A Winter Wildlife Tracking Adventure!

On the weekend of Feb. 7 - 8, 2026, join a small group of adventurous souls as we follow the snowy trails of Northwoods wildlife. Immerse yourself in the daily lives of Canada lynx, moose, fisher, and marten as you learn how to detect and interpret their tracks, trails and signs on the landscape.

The weekend is based out of Jackman, Maine (aka "the Switzerland of Maine" for it's deep snows and long winter). We'll explore snow-covered landscapes in the rugged Western Maine Mountains and the Moose River Valley learning about the lives of northern wildlife and the remarkable habitats that sustain them.

Your Guide: Dan Gardoqui is a long-time Registered Maine Guide for & Certified Professional Wildlife Tracker. He has guided dozens of clients in the Jackman Region on many winter adventures. Dan serves as the Education & Outreach Director here at the Center for Wildlife.
